Christine first became interested in holistic therapies when she received her first Reiki treatment.  She had a bad back and it was suggested that a Reiki therapist may be able to help.  In fact Reiki did not help her back, but it most certainly did help her to cope with the stress that she was under at the time.  Christine was hooked!  She first took the Reiki 1 course with Allison Agius and Elaine Doherty in Darlington, and then went on to gain the Reiki 2 Practitioner, Reiki 3 Advanced Practitioner and Reiki Master-Teacher certificates, also with Allison.

Christine studied Holistic Massage  and Sports Massage with Jenny Grogan and Helen Richardson at the Hollytree School of Holistic Therapy in Darlington, and achieved excellent grades in the ITEC Diplomas in Holistic Massage and Sports Massage.  These qualifications are very well respected in the complementary therapy world, and have enabled Christine to fulfil her ambition of starting her own therapy business.  She is a member of Embody, the professional association for complementary and beauty therapies (www.embodyforyou.com).  Currently she is studying for an MSc in traditional Acupuncture at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York.

Because of her growing number of clients, in April 2007 Christine left work at the surgery to concentrate full time on her practice, and this continues to go from strength to strength.
Apologies - this is the boring bit!
Christine began life in Upminster, Essex.  On leaving school at the age of 18 she began work as a bank clerk in London, but after a year she left to take a two year medical secretarial course.  She met her husband, John, on a hang gliding course in Brighton and they were married in 1979.  John lived in Darlington, so the couple decided to make their home there.  They have a son and a daughter, now both grown up.

Christine worked at the local hospital for a while as a medical secretary, and then became a housewife for 5 years.  She returned to work in IT as an analyst/programmer having re-trained in this field and having achieved an Open University degree.  Eight years later Christine joined John's business, Fletcher Joinery, as office manager which gave her an invaluable insight into running a company.  Thirteen years later she returned to medical secretarial work at a local GP surgery.
