Christine was invited to chat to colleagues at the GP’s surgery where she worked about Reiki. Everyone was fascinated by the subject and the possibilities of Reiki, and the allotted hour was too short for the presentation and sample treatments. Hurworth Comprehensive School invited Christine to attend their “Looking After Me” day for year 8 students, along with other speakers/instructors in dance, tai chi, healthy eating, beauty therapy, yoga, and other health-related subjects. The students signed up for the talks and demos that interested them, and three sessions were held during the day. Christine started working at the new InTouch Holistic Centre near Northallerton, North Yorkshire, within the Northallerton Equestrian Centre. Christine commenced a three-year course in Acupuncture at the Northern College of Acupuncture in York. This will require a lot of commitment, but Christine feels that Acupuncture is becoming more and more recognised as a very effective therapy and will enable her to broaden her scope considerably.
